I was born in 1948, and was raised in the Midwest, then later in the Pacific Northwest. I have been drawing for personal expression since grade school. I have exhibited artwork professionally since 1974, and have been a member of Blackfish Gallery in Portland and was represented in Seattle by the Kurt Lidtke Gallery. I am represented in Salem by the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery. My drawings and paintings are in several collections, including the Bonneville Power Administration, the City of Portland Visual Chronical Collection, the Home Builders Institute in Washington, DC, The Frederick and Lucy Herman Foundation Collection of Drawings at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, the State of Oregon Historical Properties, and several college and university collections. I was the first art instructor hired at Chemeketa Community College, and I taught for thirty years. I launched the Art Program there in 1974, taught drawing, painting, printmaking, and film studies, and served for several years as chair of the Program. I live in Salem, and I am married to the artist Carol Hausser.
