Koudelka, Jim
Oregon ceramist Jim Koudelka’s sculptures stem from his “love of the vessel and my interest in industrial and mechanical artifacts.” Striving for layers of implied age and use, he subjects the wheel-thrown, handbuilt and press-molded elements to several firings before assembly, then adds found materials to complete the form. Jim Koudelka recieved his M.F.A. from Indiana University. He is a Professor in Ceramics at the Oregon College of Art and Craft, Portland, Oregon where he has taught for the past fifteen years.
