Skrips, William
William Skrips is a purveyor of secondhand objects, a gatherer of stuff and an old-fashioned garbage picker. The items he gathers not only fuel his material pile, but become a source of inspiration as well. This collected miscellany is evident in the in the works now presented.
Bill was formally trained at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. He has an innate love for the tactile and the three-dimensional. Although he also paints, it is with a bit less humor and compulsion than his sculptural work. He has also experimented over the years with printmaking and collage. For him, making sculpture is a given. Call it love or call it obsession, the work gets done.
William Skrips currently resides in Blairstown, NJ.
