For the month of May, the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will be showing the work of 14 Salem artists. By going “Beyond the Gallery Door” and into these artists studios, we hope to enlighten our community of the importance of these artists and the work they do to build Salem into a creative and cultural destination.

Margaret Coe, spent the past year-and-a-half traveling with her daughter through the illlness and eventual death of her two-year-old grandson, Marcus. The work that emerged from this period expresses the intensity of this most human experience, and invites the viewer to consider it in all its immediacy.
