Door Show #4
Group Show
May 5 – May 30, 2009 | Artist’s Reception: Wednesday, May 6th, 5-7 pm
“Who’s at the door?” is a phrase that will take on a whole new meaning for Downtown Salem during the month of May. The Mary Lou Zeek Gallery has again created a unique show allowing the public to view contemporary art throughout historic Downtown Salem. Twenty-three accomplished Oregon artists were invited to creatively-infuse standard wooden doors with their own artistic interpretations for this upcoming show. This is the fourth year for this award-winning show and it has become a true Salem favorite.
This business/art collaboration hinges on Zeek’s determination to connect the Salem community to the visual arts, however the key to its success is her flair for innovation. “Downtown Salem is poised for an exciting revitalization and this business partnership places the arts at its threshold,” says Zeek of the positive impact of this show.
