Face the Public Complete Painting
For the fifth consecutive year the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will feature the collaborative show, “Face the Public”, during the month of October. Nine Oregon artists will each paint for a day at the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery to recreate Henri Matisse’s famous “La Musique” painting. The finished piece will be sold and the proceeds put into an Artists-in-Need-Fund. Each artist will paint in their own style and with their own medium. In addition, the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will feature a collaborative showing of paintings by each of the nine artists during the month of October.
The goals of this show are to shed new light on a familiar piece of art, to build a collaboration between nine extremely talented artists and to have those artists “Face the Public”.
