Call for Artists
Call for Artists-100 Artists Show ”Art of Communication” – Closed-
The Mary Lou Zeek Gallery announces a call to serious artists to participate in our “10th Annual 100 Artists Show”, “Art of Communication”.
For this show, the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will be sending an item through the mail to 100 selected artists. The item will be sent on October 15th, 2011 and used as a starting point for a piece of art. Maximum size of finished art is: 12″ x 12″. all entries must be original artwork of the entering artist. If you are chosen to be one of the 100 artists, the completed artwork would need to be packed and mailed to the gallery by January 17th, 2012. All work will be sold in a silent auction where it will benefit the selected charity.
The 100 Artist show will be publicized nationally, a book will be created showing all selected works, see here and the show will be online.
If you are a serious artist and would like to apply for this show, please send current images of your work to mzeek@comcast.net. The gallery will contact you if you are selected as one of the 100 artists.
Deadline for submissions is September 30th. Artists will be contacted by October 10th.

Art Submission Guidelines
Submissions typically include:
• cover letter
• 10-20 images on a CD (include title, media, dimensions, year, pricing (reflect a 45% gallery /55% artist commission)
• resume (exhibition history, awards, education, etc)
• prior press or showcards, catalogues (optional)
We will return your DUPLICATE materials if a SASE is provided.
Please do not:
• submit a Web-based submissions without supporting materials
• submit original materials!
• call the gallery regarding review of your portfolio as the person who answers will most likely not know its status. We will contact you if we are interested in your work.
Please note:We may not return your portfolio for quite some time; due to high volume of portfolios we receive each week and to devote adequate time to their review, we may hold onto your submissions for a month or so. If we haven’t gotten back to you in that time, please give us a call.
